Sue Jones Photos
About Sue Jones
I started taking Campdrafting Photographs in 1980. We were living in Toowoomba QLD at the time. I had a darkroom and developed my own black & white photos in the beginning. It was always such a thrill to get that good shot, take it home and develop the negatives and then watch the photo develop before your eyes. It became addictive for me! After going through some of my earlier negatives it is plain to see how Campdrafting has changed in that short space of time.
I have always tried to be complimentary to both horse and rider. I have never wanted to show the sport in any other way. I am proud to say there are a large number of homes out there, all over the country, that have a Sue Jones Photo hanging in it somewhere.
I have had the pleasure of photographing the best in the sport, both horses & riders. Some have passed on (horses & riders alike) but I consider myself privileged to have had the opportunity to record some small part of the history in this sport of Campdrafting that will live forever in a photograph.
My style of Campdraft photography is a little different to some. I love to photograph what I call the "pressure point". If it comes off it can be quite spectacular, a struggle of horse and beast, if it doesn't work it usually ends up in the rubbish bin!
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the journey.
